After Rashmi Samant who became the first Indian to have been elected the president of Oxford student union was bullied out by left-liberal students and supported by Hinduphobic faculty, the ‘Hindu On Campus’ collective have sought the removal of Abhijit Sarkar who had made derogatory remarks,.
Hindu On Campus, a student-led movement for “creating a safe space for diaspora Hindus to share their experiences with Anti-Hindu bigotry and standing together against racism” released a video from its official Twitter handle.
In that video, two Hindu British students made a passionate appeal against the bigoted statements put out by Sarkar. According to them, Sarkar has compromised a safe space for Hindu students on Oxford university campuses and has failed to upheld the values of this prestigious college by making such statements.

Dr Abhijit Sarkar is an Indian origin history lecturer at the Oxford University and spearheaded the Hinduphobic campaign against Rashmi Samant, who on her own ability, character, and academic excellence became the first Indian to have been elected the president of Oxford student union.
However, a few days after her historic victory, a hate campaign was launched against Samant online and the abuse resulted in the resignation of Samant from the Student’s Union and eventually, she had to return to India abandoning her studies at Oxford as the trauma of being bullied was too much for her and was hospitalised due to stress.

Sarkar, a known Hinduphobe led a smear campaign against Sawant with his dehumanising comments. He even proudly boasted of having broken Saraswati idols and has been accused of inciting religious hatred and harassment of Samant.
