TVK Vijay Proves He’s a Thakuri Again, Says MK Stalin Is Aligned With BJP Because He Stood In The Same Row As Chandrababu Naidu In NITI Aayog Meeting Photo Session

Part-time-politician Vijay found himself facing heavy criticism yet again after making an inaccurate claim regarding the recent NITI Aayog meeting. In a statement aimed at the BJP-led central government, Vijay alleged that “several Chief Ministers from non-BJP ruled states had boycotted the NITI Aayog meeting.” However, in reality, only three Opposition Chief Ministers were absent, making his claim factually incorrect.

Vijay didn’t stop there—he launched a scathing attack on the DMK government for attending the 10th NITI Aayog meeting held on 24 May 2025, suggesting that their presence was politically motivated and aimed at shielding themselves from recent Enforcement Directorate (ED) actions.

This blunder by Vijay, who aspires to become the next Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, drew widespread backlash. Contrary to his claim, several key leaders attended the NITI Aayog meeting, including, N. Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh, M.K. Stalin of Tamil Nadu, Revanth Reddy of Telangana, Sukhvinder Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh, and Bhagwant Mann of Punjab. Among them, only Andhra Pradesh’s CM is aligned with the BJP-led NDA.

In total, only three Opposition Chief Ministers Mamata Banerjee (West Bengal), Siddaramaiah (Karnataka), and Pinarayi Vijayan (Kerala)—skipped the session, along with NDA allies Nitish Kumar (Bihar) and N. Rangasamy (Puducherry). Despite these numbers, Vijay’s sweeping claim was quickly called out as misleading.

On his official X (formerly Twitter) account, Vijay suggested that the DMK’s participation in the meeting was less about governance and more about personal interests, implying that it was an attempt to protect the party’s first family amid recent ED raids. His comment was widely mocked online, with many questioning the political maturity and credibility of his statements.

He said, “For the sake of family interests, the DMK leadership has mortgaged the pride of Tamil Nadu, bowed down, surrendered, and sought refuge with the Union BJP government!

In the first state conference of our Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, we clearly declared the ruling, corrupt, and hypocritical DMK as our political adversary at the state level, and the divisive, policy-driven BJP as our ideological adversary at the Union level. We have consistently exposed and highlighted the anti-people actions of both these ruling parties.

When the old alliance between the AIADMK and BJP was renewed, we also pointed out the covert alliance between the DMK and the BJP. Likewise, we had stated that whenever action is taken against someone involved in corruption, they immediately rush to Delhi, and everything gets conveniently covered up as if they were never involved in any wrongdoing. In line with that, the recent Delhi visit of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, following several ministers, seems to prove that.

In the TASMAC corruption case, after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raids conducted in March, searches were recently carried out at the residences of the TASMAC Managing Director and individuals closely linked to the DMK leadership’s family.

In the midst of this, the Tamil Nadu government filed an appeal in the Supreme Court to stop the ED investigation into TASMAC, and managed to obtain an interim stay. However, since it is not a permanent relief, the Chief Minister of the publicity-driven DMK government, M.K. Stalin, has been pushed into a situation where he must speak wherever the investigation might possibly be halted. The NITI Aayog meeting happened to fit that purpose.

Last year, when the same NITI Aayog meeting was held in Delhi, the Chief Minister released a video explaining why he was not attending. The reasons he gave then still persist today. If that is the case, why attend this year alone? The only reason is the pressure exerted by the ED!

Realizing that ED actions are like a snake coils around the foot, M.K. Stalin, fearing that a ₹1,000 crore corruption case could bring danger to his family members, used the NITI Aayog meeting as a pretext to visit Delhi. He also held a separate meeting with the Prime Minister.

Can Chief Minister Stalin truly and in good conscience claim that during that meeting, he did not discuss the ED raids, the ongoing cases, or matters related to his family with the Prime Minister?

Furthermore, if the BJP truly opposes the DMK ideologically and politically, then how could it receive Stalin with such warmth and cordiality, knowing he came seeking refuge? This only further proves our earlier statement that this is the manifestation of the covert alliance between these two parties.

In this context, a photograph from the NITI Aayog meeting was released. A close look at it reveals the cat’s out of the bag. In the photo, the front row stands Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu—who openly aligns with the BJP. On the opposite side of the same row stands Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. What does this mean? One gets the front row for an open alliance, and the other for a secret one. Isn’t that the real truth?

Though this is presented as a routine event, it clearly exposes the backroom alliance and grand political deal between the DMK and the BJP. That is the bigger reality behind all of this.

In protest against the deceptive behavior of the Union BJP government, several Chief Ministers from non-BJP ruled states have boycotted the NITI Aayog meeting.”
