CK Kumaravel, the CEO and Co-founder of “Naturals” salons and former executive of Makkal Needhi Maiam and a current vocal supporter of the Congress party, has come under heavy criticism for making disparaging comments and malicious allegations against the nationalist freedom fighter Veer Savarkar.
Congress and leftists have for long disparaged one of India’s most daring freedom fighters just because he opposed the appeasement politics of Congress and MK Gandhi and coined an alternate political philosophy called Hindutva.
Following suit, Naturals salon owner CK Kumarvel too had called ‘Veer’ Savarkar a coward and went on to call him a ‘Hindutva Maniac’ in an X post on 16 May 2024.

Netizens slammed the Naturals Salon owner with many cancelling their memberships and vowing to not visit his salons ever. The #BoycottNaturals campaign casts a huge spell of doom for those who have invested lakhs of rupees to set up a Naturals franchisee.
Two of your salons near our area are closed today. I know few of them personally, as they are our customers.
The franchise owners are angry because it’s your reckless comments.

Following the boycott campaign, CK Kumaravel put another X post which many on social media called as ‘arrogance’.
Kumaravel had said that people can come to his salons if the hairstylist is good and can “try alternatives” if they don’t find it valuable for the money.

If not try alternatives

To his question on whether one would use a service based on one’s political preference, many on social media gave fierce rebuttals.
Ironically, is this your mercy petition on Social Media, asking customers to not boycott Natural’s salon?
Anyways, why do you want money from those who are supporting a “coward” like Savarkar?
Be brave and reject such cowardly customers, to stand for your principles no?
