United States President Donald Trump who is in the midst of a tough election campaign on Tuesday (September 22) blamed the Chinese Communist government for the global spread of the Wuhan virus.
“The United Nations must hold China accountable for their actions,” Trump said.
In his speech to the United Nations General Assembly, Trump called on the United Nations to hold China accountable for “unleashing” the Covid-19 causing SARS-CoV-2 virus onto the world.
“We must hold accountable the nation which unleashed this plague onto the world: China,” Trump said.

“In the earliest days of the virus, China locked down travel domestically while allowing flights to leave China and infect the world. China condemned my travel ban on their country, even as they cancelled domestic flights and locked citizens in their homes,” Trump said in a pre-recorded speech.
Trump was also very uncharatable towards the World Health Organisation (WHO) for its role in the early days of the spread of Wuhan virus pandemic and alleged that the global health body was “controlled by China”.
“The Chinese government and the World Health Organization—which is virtually controlled by China—falsely declared that there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission. Later, they falsely said people without symptoms would not spread the disease,” he said.
