Former Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai has strongly criticized the DMK government for organizing its Ungaludan Stalin outreach program at a government school in Trichy, which resulted in a day off for more than 100 students. He accused the ruling party of prioritizing political publicity over children’s education.

Posting on his official X account, Annamalai stated, “Yesterday, a government-run century-old middle school in Alathudaiyanpatti, which is part of the Uppiliyapuram Panchayat Union in the Trichy district, was given a holiday to host the DMK government’s ‘Ungaludan Stalin’ camp. It is highly condemnable that government schools are being sacrificed for the sake of the DMK’s publicity stunts. The school education department is already in a pathetic state. The abuse of power is going on to the extent of giving a holiday to a school with over a hundred students studying in the Minister of School Education’s own district to hold DMK promotional events.”

He went on to question the DMK’s decision-making, asking whether no other venues in Trichy were available for the event, and condemned what he described as a disregard for the education of rural children. “Don’t the DMK members, who have exploited the village for their event, have any other venues in Trichy? This is nothing but a dismissive attitude, as if it’s just a school for poor students,” he warned, adding that the people of Tamil Nadu will respond to such actions in the 2026 elections.
