In an apparent dig at DMK chief MK Stalin, Kamal Haasan said that if one has to insult Karunanidhi, one would just have to utter ‘M.K. Stalin’.
The actor-politician was referring to the comment he had earlier made on the late patriarch Karunanidhi which had irked DMK supporters. Kamal Haasan, while addressing his party Makkal Needhi Maiam’s fourth-year inaugural ceremony in Chennai on February 21 had made a reference to wheelchair. This did not go well with the supporters of Karunanidhi.
“They misunderstood that I had insulted Karunanidhi when I spoke on wheel chair. But truly, if one were to insult Karunanidhi one has to just say ‘M.K. Stalin’.”, Kamal Haasan told speaking at a meeting yesterday (March 8).
In another veiled attack on the DMK’s campaign song – “Stalindhaan vaaraaru” (Stalin is only coming to power), Kamal said that these days dacoits came with prior announcement.
Kamal Haasan also took a dig at the DMK’s vision document that was unveiled on Sunday (March 7) at Tiruchirapalli and accused the DMK of plagiarising his party’s manifesto.
Speaking of his political view and career he said, “I once took part in protests against Hindi imposition, but didn’t know that I myself would later act in Hindi films. Back In the day, it seemed right to protest against it, as the politics of the was such. But today instead of fighting against Hindi, I would say long-live Tamil. Let Tamil also flourish!”, said the MNM chief.
