TN YouTuber ‘Keerthi History’ Wins Best Storyteller Award At Inaugural National Creators Awards Ceremony

In a ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi presented the inaugural National Creators Award to content creators across the country. During the event, he engaged in a brief interaction with the awardees, fostering a dialogue on the transformative power of creativity in driving positive change.

Conceived as a catalyst for utilizing creativity to instigate positive transformations, the National Creator Award has garnered exceptional public involvement. During the initial phase, the award received over 1.5 lakh nominations spanning 20 diverse categories. The subsequent voting round witnessed an impressive turnout, with approximately 10 lakh votes cast for digital creators across various award categories.

From this extensive participation, 23 winners emerged, including three international creators, marking a celebration of creativity and innovation.

Emphasizing the importance of energetic presentations, the awardees shared their approach, earning compliments from the Prime Minister for tackling a challenging yet crucial field.

The ‘Best Storyteller Award’ was bestowed upon Keerthika Govindhasamy, also known as Keerthi History. During the ceremony, she expressed her appreciation for the Prime Minister’s acknowledgment and promotion of the Tamil language.

As a symbol of respect, she touched the Prime Minister’s feet, prompting a gracious response – PM Modi also made a similar gesture. He said, “See, in politics, people fall at others feet. In the world of art, falling at someone’s feet has a different meaning. But I get disturbed a lot. Especially, if it is a daughter.”

The Prime Minister encouraged her to speak in her preferred language, acknowledging the diverse linguistic landscape of the country. Keerthika shared insights into the interconnected nature of history and politics, highlighting occasional social media backlash. Responding to the Prime Minister’s inquiry, she noted a growing interest among today’s teenage audience in learning about the greatness of India.

Congratulating Keerthika for her award, Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party President Annamalai posted his wishes on his official X handle.
