In Tamil Nadu, among the 81 assembly constituencies, the BJP coalition secured the second position, clinching the top spot in three areas. Conversely, the AIADMK alliance led in only 10 assembly constituencies.
In the Lok Sabha polls, the DMK coalition swept all 39 seats in Tamil Nadu, albeit with a lower voter turnout compared to the previous election. Similarly, the AIADMK also witnessed a significant decline. Across 234 assembly constituencies, including the 39 Lok Sabha segments, the AIADMK secured victory in merely 10 constituencies.
The AIADMK emerged victorious in Thirukoilure, Ulundurpet, Edappadi, Sangagiri, Paramathi Velur, Kumarapalayam, Ariyalur, Jayankondam, Thirumangalam, and Virudhunagar constituencies.
In the Dharmapuri district, the BJP, part of an alliance, claimed victory in Pennagaram, Dharmapuri, and Pappireddipatti constituencies. Of the total 234 assembly constituencies, the BJP alliance secured the second position in 81 constituencies, surpassing the AIADMK.
In the southern districts, the AIADMK found itself in the fourth position in some assembly segments, with the Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) ranking third. This relegation of the AIADMK to the third position in a third of the assembly constituencies came as a shock to the party.
In the Tamil Nadu Lok Sabha elections, the BJP contested in 23 constituencies, emerging as the third-largest party with 49,18,303 votes. It secured the second position in nine, the third position in thirteen, and the fourth position in one constituency, with a vote percentage of 11.24%.
