TN BJP Head Booked For Tweet On North Indian Migrant Controversy, Annamalai Releases Hate Speech Made By DMK Leaders

The has been a furore over the safety of north Indian migrant labourers in Tamil Nadu. Misreporting by a few Hindi media outlets and subsequent amplification of these reports by BJP Bihar had unleashed a political slugfest with migrant workers in Tamil Nadu facing the brunt.

Earlier, reports had emerged about migrant workers flee Tamil Nadu for fear of being attacked after a few now-debunked videos became viral. In a phone call with Nitish Kumar on Saturday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin reassured his Bihar counterpart about the safety of migrant workers. Tamil Nadu police have provided helpline numbers for migrant workers to call if there is an untoward incident.

On the other hand, many on social media accused DMK of peddling hate against north Indians hitherto. Tamil Nadu BJP President K. Annamalai had condemned the vile comments of DMK ministers who referred to them as Panipuri walas and Vadakkans, claiming that these irresponsible statements by DMK leaders triggered this exodus.

In response to this tweet, the Tamil Nadu cyber crime police have registered an FIR under sections 153 153(a) 505 of the Indian Penal Code.

Following this Annamalai released compilation of all the instances when DMK leaders including MK Stalin had spoken against north Indian migrant workers.
