Three Temples Robbed In Dindigul, Hindu Munnani Demands Special Police Force To Protect Temples

In a startling incident in the Pannapatti area of Dindigul district, three temples were targeted by robbers in a single night, with cash stolen from each.

The Kaliamman Mariamman Temple in Eriodu’s Vadugampadi Panchayat, Pannapatti, was broken into during the night, and the cash was looted. Similarly, the lock of the nearby Madurai Veeran Temple was forced open, and cash was taken from there as well.

Villagers visiting the temples in the afternoon were shocked to find the locks broken and the cash missing. They promptly informed the Eriodu police, who arrived at the scene to investigate. Authorities are currently examining nearby CCTV footage to identify the culprits responsible for the thefts.

The Hindu Munnani has strongly criticized the DMK government and the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HRCE) Department, calling for the establishment of a dedicated police force to address temple-related crimes. Through their official X account, they expressed their concerns, stating, “Under DMK rule, only Hindu temples are being targeted and harassed! In Dindigul, three temples were robbed simultaneously! Is the HRCE not enough—now thieves too? Tamil Nadu government, establish a special police force for temples..! Since the DMK came to power, temple Hundi’s been broken across several districts. Temple idols have been damaged. A dedicated force must be formed to safeguard temples, and strict action should be taken against those steal from the temples.”
