The Hidden Secret About TVK To DMK Hopper Vaishnavi

Vaishnavi, a ‘social media personality’ and former member of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam who is now a DMK functionary, recently grabbed headlines thanks to wide coverage from Dravidianist media. In a sharp public statement, she accused her former TVK party of institutional bias against women and youth.

Her meteoric rise to fame and the sudden media frenzy surrounding her feel anything but organic—almost as if it were choreographed with precision. It’s reminiscent of another beauty influencer who, after switching allegiance from one actor’s party, conveniently found a place in the DMK. In Tamil Nadu, whenever the Dravidianist media begins to aggressively spotlight an influencer, it’s a reliable sign that the individual is being carefully positioned and promoted by the DMK machinery.

Vaishnavi hails from a staunch DMK background. Her mother, Radha Sivakumar, is the DMK Women’s Wing Organizer for the Kavundampalayam area and a known loyalist of former DMK Minister Senthil Balaji. Given these close family ties, many are questioning the authenticity of her outburst, viewing it instead as a coordinated effort by the DMK political establishment to discredit actor Vijay’s emerging party.

A Staunch DMK Functionary Radha Sivakumar

On 5 March 2024, Radha Sivakumar shared on social media details about a recent event organized by the DMK Women’s Wing in Kavundampalayam. Acting on the guidance of Coimbatore North District DMK Secretary T.A. Ravi, the team successfully hosted the ‘Mupperum Vizha celebration. The event was held under the leadership of Kavundampalayam Area DMK Secretary J.S. Sarath Vignesh.

Following this, a public meeting was held to showcase the accomplishments of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in the Kavundampalayam constituency.

In a subsequent post, Radha shared photos from the event that featured key DMK leaders, including then-Electricity Minister Senthil Balaji, HR&CE Minister P.K. Sekar Babu, and DMK Youth Wing Secretary R. Rajiv Gandhi, among others.

A committed party organizer, Radha Sivakumar has played an active role in planning and executing several DMK programs in close coordination with local cadres and elected council members.

The DMK’s attempt to portray newcomer Vaishnavi as a bold, revolutionary woman who rose like a phoenix from TVK is nothing more than a scripted drama. It is widely known that she had been eyeing a district-level post within TVK, and when her expectations weren’t met, she quickly returned to her roots—the DMK, her political home base.

Imagine the integrity and moral compass of someone—and their family—who look up to figures like Senthilbalaji and Sekarbabu. What message does that send to the youth?
