The doctor who established a cemetery for dead pets

Dr. Tin Hoodun Nying, a doctor from Myanmar has set up a separate cemetery for pets at his home.  He has been raising a dog as his pet since 2000 which died in 2015. Since, the pets that die there are usually thrown in a dump or in a river, he looked for a place to give a decent burial to the dog.

But since he found no place, he bought his own piece of land in the middle of the city and built a grave for his pet there. He also accommodated those who wanted to build a cemetery for pets at the site.

The cemetery now has more than 300 pets including the country’s famous police sniffer dog that died recently. Although a majority in the cemetery are dog tombs, there are tombs for some cats and one for a rabbit as well.

The cemetery is currently maintained by his family. There is a charge of US $ 70 (₹5,000 in Indian currency) for burying pets there. The doctor who set up the cemetery has now won appreciations on social media.
