Tea seller’s daughter becomes Air Force pilot

24-year-old Anchal Gangwal, a tea seller’s daughter from Madhya Pradesh was commissioned into the Indian Air Force (IAF) due to her perseverance.

Her father Suresh Gangwal, who has been selling tea for the past 25 years in Neemuch, did not have the money to pay for her education, However, that did not stop her from following her dreams.

Her father said that his daughter got motivated and dreamt of joining the IAF when she saw defence personnel helping people during the Kedarnath floods back in 2013.

To pursue her dream, Gangwal collected information from bookstalls to understand how to prepare for the examination.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan congratulated her for making the state proud. “Daughter Anchal, who made Madhya Pradesh proud, will now fly in the heights of the infinite sky to protect the pride and honour of the country,” the MP CM tweeted while sharing a picture of Gangwal in her uniform.
