In a provocative appeal that many have criticized as communally divisive, Senthil Vel a known Dravidianist sympathizer and former anchor of Maalai Murasu, now running the Tamil Kelvi YouTube channel openly urged minority voters, especially Christians, not to support actor-turned-politician Vijay in the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Instead, he advocated for supporting the ruling DMK.

Senthil Vel’s core argument was rooted in fearmongering, he claimed that voting for anyone other than the DMK, including Vijay, would pave the way for the BJP’s entry into Tamil Nadu. This message, widely seen as an attempt to polarize voters along religious lines, has drawn backlash for promoting communal divisions under the guise of political analysis.

On social media platform X, he shared a video with the caption stating, “A must-watch video for those who want to vote for Vijay,”.

Senthilvel stated, “I want to emphasize to my minority brothers, especially to the Christians, that a party can only come to power if it secures 40% of the votes. To form a government in Tamil Nadu, it needs to obtain at least 35 to 40 percent of the votes. However, Vijay has no chance of achieving 40% of the votes in this election. His can get 8, 7, or 10 percent—that is his votes. You must understand that he cannot come to power; that is a fact. If you cast your vote for him out of curiosity, thinking that he is a Christian or symbolizes change, then you are effectively voting for the BJP and AIADMK. I want to clarify that I am not accusing him of being affiliated with the AIADMK or BJP. However, your vote for him could lead to the DMK losing 3,000 to 4,000 votes in a constituency, resulting in approximately 10 lost seats. If the AIADMK-BJP alliance is positioned to form a government in Tamil Nadu, and an AIADMK government is established with a BJP cabinet, then no god will be able to save Tamil Nadu afterward. The BJP will ruthlessly expand its hands. Modi said, “Just vote for me once in 2014.” Can we now remove them? No. Once they establish a foothold in Tamil Nadu, they cannot be removed. So, if you vote for Vijay out of curiosity, thinking it is just one vote, may he even be a good person. But if you grasp the reality that he will never be able to contest this election to win and form a government, and you vote from a realistic perspective, you will be making a wise decision. As you prepare to cast your vote, please remember Gujarat, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and the tragic fate of Stan Swamy, who was burned alive in a jeep. A pastor came to serve but was burned alive. Keep all of this in mind and cast your vote, as it will benefit you, me, Tamil Nadu, and India.”

According to police sources, Mansoor Ali, a resident of Jinnah Street in Valluvar Nagar, had posted a video falsely claiming that a Dalit man named Hussain Shah — allegedly affiliated with the BJP IT wing in Jammu and Kashmir — had been arrested for involvement in the recent Pahalgam terror attack and had connections to a banned terrorist organization.

The video, which circulated widely online, was flagged by Head Constable Rajasekar of the Tiruchi Cyber Crime Police. Based on his complaint, a case was registered under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008.

Police said the content was intended to impersonate an individual by misusing their name and image, while spreading misinformation that could endanger India’s sovereignty, disrupt communal harmony, and incite hatred against the government.

Further investigations revealed that Mansoor Ali was already facing a pending case filed by the Tiruchi Metropolitan Crime Branch for allegedly making derogatory remarks about the Hindu deity Rama and the Rama Setu (Adam’s Bridge) on social media. Authorities noted that he had been residing abroad during the earlier probe, and with his recent arrest, investigations into the previous case will also be resumed.

Mansoor Ali is currently in judicial custody, and police said further legal action would follow based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.

DMK-Supporting Dravidianist YouTuber Also Peddled The Same Claims

While controversial actor and YouTuber Mansoor Ali Khan was arrested for spreading false claims about Talib Hussain Shah’s identity — wrongly labeling him a “Hindu BJP worker” — another figure, DMK-aligned Dravidianist YouTuber Senthil Vel, openly peddled the same propaganda without facing any consequences.

Let me be clear—the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and Defence Minister are directly responsible. They must resign. I’m accusing them that they are weak and going to criticize them even more. I’m not here to bluff anything. I’m going to show the links between terrorists and BJP members, explain in detail who were all arrested.”, he had said.

He actively tried to equate Islamist terror with espionage cases involving Hindus—often Brahmins—revealing a disturbing blend of religious deflection, caste hatred, and political propaganda.

He also misled viewers by citing old or unrelated cases to link BJP with the terror attack. His confused, casteist rant not only failed to hold terrorists accountable but also shamelessly pandered to narratives favorable to Pakistan and hostile to India’s internal unity.

While Mansoor Ali Khan has been arrested for spreading such dangerous misinformation, Senthil Vel has so far evaded action, largely due to his cozy ties with the ruling DMK establishment in Tamil Nadu.

On Monday (October 11), Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin met and felicitated a bunch of YouTubers who had reportedly crowd-sourced money to sponsor oxygen producing equipment for the Tiruvannamalai Government Hospital.

These YouTubers include Avudaiappan of Behindwoods, Madan Gowri, alleged ‘fact-checker’ Iyan Karthikeyan and several others.

Among those who CM Stalin met and felicitated also include ousted anchor from News 18 Tamil Nadu Senthilvel who currently runs Tamil Kelvi.

He had presented a book with a cover that had a caricature of a Brahmin Pandit and a map of India burning in a fire-altar.

The book written by one Pozhilan is titled “Veda fanatic India” in Tamil, referring to the ancient Indian religious texts that are composed in Sanskrit.

The DMK is known for attacking the Hindu faith and peddling hatred against Hindus especially targetting the Brahmin community.

CM Stalin himself when he was the Opposition leader had made obscene remarks on Hindu rituals while participating in a Muslim marriage function.

Political commentator Sumanth C Raman lashed out CM Stalin endorsing Hindu hatred and asked if no one in the Chief Minister’s screen what books are presented.

An anonymous Twitter user that goes by the name Reality Check India had lamented that such books continued to be written in Tamil Nadu and in the Tamil language.
