Son-in-law of MLA KK Selvam who left DMK killed in road accident

Tulasiraman (50), son-in-law of Thousand Lights MLA KK Selvam was killed in a road accident near Poonamallee on Sunday (October 11). He is the husband of the eldest daughter of KK Selvam.

On Sunday evening, Tulasiraman had gone on a two-wheeler to meet his daughter studying medicine at a private dental college in Poonamallee. On his way back home, an unidentified vehicle hit him. The person who caused the accident is said to have admitted him to the hospital and fled. The Poonamallee Traffic Investigation Division police investigation has revealed that the person who caused the accident had gone away as soon as he was admitted for treatment. Police are inspecting to see if there are any CCTV footage of the area where the accident took place.

Tualsiraman’s father is a retired SP in the Chennai Police. Tulsiraman lived in Kodambakkam, Chennai. He worked for a famous plywood company in Valasaravakkam.

It is to be noted that KK Selvam representing Thousand lights constituency in Chennai left the DMK and took a pro-BJP stance following a rebellion. A close friend of DMK chief MK Stalin, he had a disagreement over the appointment of the DMK district secretary. He demanded that DMK chief must hold internal party elections and snap ties with the Congress and the Gandhi family. He had also asked Stalin to condemn Karuppar Koottam, a Youtube channel that had made a derogatory video related to a holy hymn on Lord Murugan.

When he had met the BJP leaders in Delhi without informing the party high command, Selvam had said that he was ready to face disciplinary action from the party.

KK Selvam is yet to join the BJP.

Many have raised concerns over the timing of this accident and have alleged larger conspiracies. Popular vlogger Maridhas has called for a probe by the government if whether the DMK leadership is involved either directly or indirectly.
