‘Singham’ Annamalai IPS to join BJP

Former IPS officer known as real life ‘Singham’, K. Annamalai, will be joining the BJP in the presence of the party’s national president JP Nadda at 10 AM today.

K. Annamalai was a 2011 batch IPS officer and started his career as the Assistant Superintendent of Police at Udupi district and served in various locations of Karnataka. He was well known for dealing criminals with an iron fist. He quit the service in 2019 to found the We The Leaders Foundation that works in the areas of skilling youngsters and organic farming.

Annamalai is inspired by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and is an admirer of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He had met Mr. Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and had expressed to them about wanting to do something different in life.

Annamalai has been a vocal supporter of Prime Minister Modi and his policies. Earlier in May 2019, the New Indian Express had reported that he was likely to join BJP. Later, it was being speculated that Mr. Annamalai would join Superstar Rajinikanth’s party when he flouts one.

After resigning, he has been working with different stakeholders at the grassroots from his native Karur. He has been training young college graduates to help them get placed in companies through his Core Talent and Leadership Development Private Limited. He has also been working with farmers to promote organic farming.
