In yet another instance of DMK ministers abusing common people, DMK Minister Ponmudi yelled at a woman to ‘shut up’ when she came to him to express her grievances.
Speaking at a gathering in Tirukovilur, Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister Ponmudi stated that 22 months have passed since their election to office and that the government is currently working on multiple initiatives at once, with work being done both in villages and cities.
He added that, with KN Nehru as Minister for Municipal Administration, Chief Minister MK Stalin has been doing a lot of work, whether in Chennai, Thirukovilu, or Vizhupuram.
As Minister Ponmudi was speaking, a woman got up and said she wanted to give him a petition. Minister Ponmudi became enraged and mocked the lady, yelling at her, “shut up and sit down!” in a derogatory voice.
After realizing that he was displaying his anger to a woman in public, Ponmudi attempted to downplay the incident by asking irrelevant questions to the woman. Ponmudi enquired about her husband from the women. When she said her husband had passed away, Ponmudi responded with a laugh, “He has passed away? So sad.”
This is not the first time that Ponmudi has spoken like this in public. A few days ago, at a function in Villupuram, Ponmudi said to the women who had expressed their grievances, “As if you people of this village voted for me! Coming and questioning me! Sit down!” In another instance, Ponmudi also insulted women who were using the free bus service by referring to them as “OC Bus” users.
