“Send Thirumavalavan To India-Pakistan Border, Many Pakistanis Are Glaring At Us”: BJP Leader Annamalai Roasts VCK Chief Over Attack Incident

In a fiery attack laced with sarcasm and political barbs, Tamil Nadu BJP president K. Annamalai launched a blistering critique of Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) chief Thol. Thirumavalavan, accusing him of engaging in violent, caste-driven, and hypocritical politics.

Speaking to reporters in Madurai, Annamalai mocked Thirumavalavan’s recent aggressive public statements and challenged him to display his “bravery” at the India-Pakistan border instead of intimidating ordinary citizens in Tamil Nadu. He also questioned the VCK leader’s commitment to free speech, alleging that Thirumavalavan disables comments on his social media posts while claiming to champion freedom of expression.

The BJP leader further urged the Tamil Nadu government to conduct a full inquiry into the alleged attack incident involving VCK members, adding that if the probe clears him of involvement, Thirumavalavan should resign from politics altogether.

Speaking to the press, he said, “Some political party members, some leaders, get onto the stage and say that if someone merely glares, they should be hit four times. Today, Thirumavalavan and those accompanying him should be sent to the India-Pakistan border, because the Pakistani is constantly glaring; he needs to be hit four times. Therefore, if they start hitting everyone who glares, there will be no place for Thirumavalavan in Tamil Nadu. If he goes to the India-Pakistan border and that Pakistani glares, will he hit him twice? They won’t show bravery there. Instead, they target innocent people, someone like you or me on a scooter—the so-called middle class—they will come. A crowd of 100 people will go with Thirumavalavan. If someone is a leader, he should have set an example as a role model.”

He added, “He should have got out of the vehicle and stopped it, and questioned what happened. This happened fully for about two to two and a half minutes. A journalist films this. A private television channel broadcasts it. After it is shown on the private television channel, I post it on my X platform. Thirumavalavan became suspicious. He suspected that Annamalai was behind it and organized it. I don’t know what to call this. This is how Tamil Nadu’s politics is cursed. Such leaders are doing politics here. They use caste, atrocities, oppression, and violence to intimidate people. Go and look at Thirumavalavan’s X profile today; no one can comment. If I, a political leader, post an opinion on the X platform, you and I have the right to comment. If you oppose my opinion, you can gladly comment on it. If you support my opinion, you can comment. But if you look at Thirumavalavan, he will post on X, but the comment section is disabled.

This means you must only read his opinion. You should not post against or in support of that opinion. Such people talk about freedom of expression while criticizing Modiji and the Bharatiya Janata Party. I haven’t seen anything more shameful than this. Two unemployed people go to the Commissioner’s office and file a complaint against me. Immediately, the narrative is that RSS and Sangh Parivar are behind it. Thirumavalavan’s favorite thing is that if the sun is a little too hot and severe in Tamil Nadu, the RSS is involved. If the sun is delayed in rising correctly, the RSS is involved. If there is heavy rain, the RSS is involved. If there is low rain, the RSS is involved. Therefore, thinking that Thirumavalavan’s politics has descended to such a low level is very saddening.”

“I haven’t been able to see the news for three or four days. Since I am seeing it today, I am registering this opinion. Therefore, the Tamil Nadu Government must fully investigate this. They must check if Thirumavalavan was deliberately attacked by anyone. Let them also include my name in the investigation. If it is proven that no such attack was carried out, then Thirumavalavan must step aside from politics. He must stop this uncivilized, threatening, and violent political activity, and stop the practice of blaming the RSS, BJP, and Annamalai to escape after committing a mistake. Once the Tamil Nadu government investigates this and it is confirmed that this was conducted by Thirumavalavan and his party workers, I, the RSS, or the BJP will not be involved. After that confirmation, the question I am asking Thirumavalavan through the press friends in Madurai city is whether he will step out of politics. I felt these two issues were important points to discuss with you today,” Annamalai said.
