YouTube channel Chanakyaa TV run by renowned journalist Rangaraj Pandey has been terminated by the video streaming and sharing platform, coming as a shock to many of his viewers.
It was brought to light after several netizens pointed out that they could not find the channel on YouTube.
Upon clicking the links of previous videos, YouTube shows a message that the video is no longer available as the YouTube account associated with the video has been terminated.
This comes after a video of BJP Tamil Nadu head Annamalai taking a jibe at CM MK Stalin’s son Udhayanidhi Stalin, who is also the MLA of Chepauk-Tiruvallikeni constituency.
Chanakyaa TV had hosted an event for distributing prizes to an essay competition held by the organization on Prime Minister Modi’s schemes. Annamalai while participating in the event, took a dig at Udhayanidhi Stalin that the CM’ son was able to visit Dubai and watch IPL happily due to PM Modi’s diplomatic efforts in allowing Indians to travel freely considering the pandemic. A snippet of the video had gone viral.
Though the reason for termination is not clear, it is being suspected that Chanakyaa TV might have faced the wrath of the ruling DMK regime in the state as Pandey had been critiquing the Stalin government on its actions. Many alleged that the DMK IT Cell might be behind this with their troll army reporting the channel leading it to its termination.
The fact that the incident has happened on his birthday has fuelled speculations about Pandey being a victim of a targeted attack by his detractors in an effort to silence him.
In a tweet, Rangaraj Pandey said that his channel has been ‘hacked’ and that the he has reported the matter to YouTube.
And, with all your wishes we are growing sharply. The proof is, @chanakyaa YouTube channel is been HACKED. We have reported to YouTube. All other platforms like https://t.co/g3a6tmwbPT , Facebook & twitter are going steady. By God's grace We will continue to do our services. 🙏
