Quid Pro Quo? Venkat Prabhu Praises CM Stalin With AI Image, GOAT Reportedly Gets Special Morning Screening

As the legal process was expected to take its course, acclaimed film director Venkat Prabhu seemed to have taken a shortcut by lavishing praise on the DMK to secure approval for an early morning show, which the ruling DMK government had previously refused. Venkat Prabhu’s apparent flattery is widely criticized online, with many users mocking his efforts to glorify the DMK in hopes of facilitating his movie’s release on 5 September 2024.

Kollywood actor Vijay’s much-anticipated film, “The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT)”, will be released in theatres tomorrow. With the release date approaching, fans are excited for what is expected to be an action-packed entertainer. Directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by AGS Productions.

However, the film’s path to release has faced a significant obstacle. As is often the case, the DMK has indirectly impeded the film’s special shows. Despite Vijay’s decision to refrain from making political statements even after launching his party, a petition was filed with the Tamil Nadu government to request special screening permissions for “GOAT”. This would have allowed fans to view the film at midnight or early morning screenings before the official release. Unfortunately, the government has yet to approve this request, and no tickets for special screenings have been made available in theatres.

In response to the situation, director Venkat Prabhu took to Twitter to flatter Chief Minister Stalin and DMK scion Udhayanidhi Stalin, stating, “I wish this AI-generated image becomes true. If #Tesla comes to Tamil Nadu, it will be a #Goat move by our Cm @mkstalin #CMStalinInUSA @Udhaystalin na @TRBRajaa saar.”

According to Polimer News, the DMK government in Tamil Nadu has approved a special screening of Vijay-starrer GOAT. Many on social media pointed out that the news came minutes after Venkat Prabhu had put a tweet, leading to speculation whether there was any quid pro quo arrangement between the filmmakers and the government.

Venkat Prabhu’s postsimping for the DMK was heavily trolled on social media. Here are some of the responses:

Despite receiving a mixed reaction to the songs and trailer, Vijay’s dedicated fanbase remains excited. The prospect of seeing their favourite star in a dual role, combined with his first collaboration with director Venkat Prabhu, has generated considerable buzz and anticipation, making “GOAT” one of the year’s most eagerly awaited releases.
