PM’s appeal of ‘Vocal for Local’ inspires people for local products

The apps developed and launched by Indian IT professionals are gaining popularity among the people. This has come after the growing trend to boycott Chinese products and the banning of 59 Chinese apps by the government.

AIR correspondent reported that inspired by P.M. Narendra Modi’s appeal to go ‘Vocal for Local’, more people are now preferring local products. They have also started opting for the apps developed by Indian IT professionals over the Chinese apps.

In this, recent development is Chingari app. This app is very similar to Tik Tok and developed by IT professionals from Chattisgarh and two other youths from Orissa and Karnataka. The government on Monday has banned 59 apps including Tik Tok.

According to the Chief of Product of Chingari app Sumit Ghosh, the app is continuously gaining popularity, and around 30 lakh people have already installed it. He welcomed the decision of the government to ban Chinese apps. As sentiments for Atma-Nirbhar Bharat are at a peak in the country. Other ‘Desi’ apps are also gaining popularity and receiving an overwhelming response from the Indian users.
