‘PM rang me first during India-China standoff, only after that he called CM’: DMK chief MK Stalin

DMK chief MK Stalin in an interview to Tamil news channel Thanthi TV said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi phoned him first when tensions had escalated at Ladakh border between India and China.

Responding to a question on whether he would be in good terms with Prime Minister Modi if he becomes Chief Minister, Stalin said that he is already having good relations with him.

“I am already in good relations with him. Even now if I meet him, I talk. He speaks to me on the phone regularly. I also talk to him. If there is a problem, I myself call him and talk to him about it.” he said.

“When we had the issue with China, I was the first person he phoned at that time. Only after that he called the Chief Minister”, he further added.

The interview further asks if he shares a relationship with him beyond politics, the DMK chief told that whenever Prime Minister Narendra Modi called, the latter would first enquire about the health of his mother. “That is the level of relations we share”, MK Stalin said.

However, he said that there was no chance of the DMK and the BJP entering into an alliance in future.

The portion of Stalin saying that PM Modi called him during the tiff with China has now got the internet in splits now  with many unleashing their humour.
