#Pappu trends on Twitter: RaGa’s latest speech on TN becomes fodder for meme makers

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who is known for his bloopers added one more to the list during his rally at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu yesterday (January 23).

The Wayanad MP is on a 3 day visit to Coimbatore as part of ‘Rahul-in Tamizh Vanakkam’, the Tamil Nadu Congress’ campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections.

Speaking from a campaign vehicle, Rahul Gandhi said “If we say Tamil Nadu is India, then we have to say India is Tamil Nadu. It cannot be like what Modi said, i.e., Tamil Nadu is a part of India, but India is not Tamil Nadu”.

Tamil Nadu Congress President K.S. Alagiri who was being the translator found himself in a fix finding it difficult to decipher and translate Rahul’s statement in Tamil.

This has led to netizens unleash their creativity with rib-tickling memes and one-liners.

Earlier when Rahul Gandhi had come to witness Jallikattu on Maatu Pongal day, his address to the reporters on ‘Tamil spirit’ gave rise to laughter which netizens pointed out was like a student trying to fill in some answer for a question he has no idea about.
