In another victory for India the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has removed Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) and Gilgit-Baltistan from Pakistan’s map.
This news was reported by PoK activist Amjad Ayub Mirza, an outspoken critic of the Pakistani establishment, on Wednesday (October 28).
“Saudi Arab removes Pakistani occupied Jammu Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan from Pakistan’s map!!!!,” he tweeted.
He also tweeted a picture that was captioned, “Saudi Arabia’s Diwali gift to India– removes Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from Pakistan’s map,” the picture’s text read.
Saudi Arabia released a 20 Riyal banknote to commemorate its presidency of organising the G-20 Summit on November 21-22 and in that banknote Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and Kashmir are not shown as parts of Pakistan.
Many in Pakistan see this as an attempt by Saudi Arabia to disgrace Pakistan as it is now siding more closely with India, the US, and in the Middle East, it is helping Israel.
A while back the Imran Khan government had released a new political map of Pakistan, which also included the Indian territories of Junagadh, Sir Creek and Manavadar in Gujarat along with Jammu and Kashmir and a part of Ladakh.
However, such a snub from Saudi Arabia must be a hard blow to Pakistan and it is not even have the power to raise this issue.
India on 27 October enabled its citizens to buy land in the union territories of Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.
