In a tragic incident an elderly couple committed suicide in the Maduravoyal area of Chennai fearing that either of them would die due to coronavirus.
Arjun and Anjalatchi were an elderly couple living in Maduravoyal. The couple have no children. They were being supplied with food by their relatives. When one of their relatives had visited their house on Friday to deliver food, they found that the house had been locked from the inside. So when he looked out the window, he was shocked to see that the husband and wife were both hanging from the ceiling.
Seeing this, he immediately informed the police. Police went there on information and conducted an investigation. Investigation into this issue had revealed that they had committed suicide fearing that they would be separated if either of them tested positive for coronavirus.
