Official Handle Of DMK IT Wing Peddles Hate Against Tamil Brahmins

In yet another instance of DMK peddling hatred against the Tamil Brahmin community, the party’s IT wing headed by DMK MLA TRB Rajaa, posted a comic attacking Brahmins with casteist stereotyping and jibes.

The DMK through its social media handles has been posting comic posts titled ‘Dravidathaal Vaazhgirom’ narrating the party’s origins and the so-called ‘Dravidian Movement’.

In one such post that was posted on 14 February 2023, the comic story board attacks the Tamil Brahmin community by stereotyping them and peddling propaganda against them.

The first board shows a group of Brahmin men discussing the formation of Madras Presidency Association saying “A few people gather against the Non-Brahmin Association. A consultative meeting was held at one person’s house.”

The Madras Presidency Association was a faction within the Indian National Congress that was formed to counter the divisive strategy of Justice Party which was acting as a British stooge.

In the second board, one man says “Mr. Pillai.. put some of the Shudras of the Congress party in that (Madras Presidency Association).”

The third board depicts an imaginary conversation between two Brahmins where one of them says “Avaa (Tamil Brahmin slang) Kai viraalalye avaa kannai kuththivittom oi (Tamil Brahmin slang)” which translates to “we poked their eyes with their own fingers”.

In the last board, one of the Tamil Brahmin man is shown saying “Haven’t we been doing this for thousands of years?”

This comic strip was shared by the DMK IT wing with the caption “The mob, sanctifying their birth and living in obscurity, conspired to destroy the unity among non-Brahmins!”

It is to be noted that the above post is a fictional portrayal and not a historical incident.

Many have reported the post saying that the DMK is once again peddling anti-Brahmin propaganda.

It is common knowledge that the DMK resorts to tirade against Tamil Brahmins to coax the wealthy landed castes (Mudaliar, Naidu, Reddy, Pillai and Chettiar) who are the traditional vote bank for the DMK.
