The National Investigation Agency (NIA) along with Karnataka’s Internal Security Division arrested a suspected terrorist with links to Al-Qaeda from Bengaluru on Saturday (11 February 2023).
Arif, a software engineer by profession, is a resident of Uttar Pradesh. He was allegedly in touch with Al-Qaeda terrorists for the last two years.
He was arrested in a joint operation with Karnataka ISD, according to an NIA source.

Arif was allegedly in touch with terrorists over the Internet for more than two years and wanted to fly to Iran and Afghanistan to join the Islamic State (IS).
Reports also note that he has already travelled to Syria.
