NIA arrests absconding accused Shihabudeen in SI Wilson Murder Case

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on January 6 announced in a press release that the absconding accused Shihabudeen in the Sub-Inspector Wilson Murder Case has been arrested.

Shihabudeen (39) alias Sirajudeen, also know as Khalid was arrested by the NIA following his touch down at the Chennai Airport from Qatar.

Sub-Inspector Wilson was murdered in cold blood by Islamic Jihadi terrorists Abdul Shameem and Thowfeek on January 8, 2020 when the police officer was on duty at the check post along Kaliyakkavilai Market Road in Kanyakumari district.

A case was registered on February 1 following which Abdul Shameem and Thowfeek were arrested.

During investigation, the role of many other Islamists namely Khaja Mohideen, Mahboob Pasha, Ejas Pasha, Jaffer Ali and Shihabudeen came to light who had provided illegal firearms and ammunitions to carry out violent jihadi attacks. Shihabudeen had provided the illegal firearms and ammunitions to Abdul Shameem and Thowfeek which they had used to kill Wilson.

Chargesheet against Shihabudeen and others mentioned above were filed on July 10, 2020 but Shihabudeen was absconding abroad since January 2020.
