New technology takes self-driving cars to the next level

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have chosen Waymo, a self-driving company to bring automobile technology to all its brands.

They have already started working on conceptualizing future products for the movement of people and goods operated by the Waymo Driver.

The “Wayne Driver” is a blend of hardware and software that is expected to perform even better than a human driver.

According to FCA, Waymo is its exclusive, strategic tech partner for Level 4 of fully self-driving technology.

This “Level 4” is defined as “high automation,” that can perform all driving functions, according to the Natural Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

However, a human driver will be able to control the functions as well.

Chief Executive Officer of Waymo, John Krafick said in a statement that FCA is their first major auto industry partner.

Mike Monkey, CEOP of FCA said that guidance of Waymo Driver has “safely and reliability” driven more fully autonomous miles than other vehicles.

He added that “ride-hailing, commercial delivery, and personal-use vehicles” will be new frontiers of many companies in the future.

The RAM ProMaster, a cargo vehicle will be the next FCA to get Waymo Driver and will be incorporated in their freight and delivery division.
