Nepal’s lips are sealed over China’s encroachment of its border districts

One can only call it karma for Nepal’s amendment to its map for including parts of Indian border towns that remain disputed. Nepal helplessly looks ahead as China plans to encroach its border towns and slowly move forward pushing its boundaries. The latter has legally occupied at least 7 bordering districts and is planning to encroach more areas. The districts that have been encroached are Dolakha, Gorkha, Darchula, Humla, Sindhupalchowk, Sankhuwasabha, and Rasuwa.

Notably, the Surveying and Mapping Department of Nepal has reported that China has pushed the international boundary 1500 metres towards Nepal in Dolakha.

The ruling government Nepali communist Party NCP is trying to hide this scenario. It is to be noted that several sources are reporting this move as a measure of appeasing China’s ruling party, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The Nepal government is trading on eggshells to make sure that it doesn’t displease the CCP.

Meanwhile, the Nepalese reporter who reported of China’s encroachment was found dead on the banks of Bagmati River near the hydropower project area in Mandu. Balaram Baniya, the Nepalese journalist who reportedly wrote an article on Chinese encroachment in Rui village, has been found dead. This raises questions of the state of affairs in the country.
