Following the controversial map release by Nepal, the Himalayan country’s Prime Minister Sharma Oli blamed India for spreading the Wuhan corona virus in his country.
Mr. Oli in a speech in the Parliament said “It has become very difficult to contain COVID-19 due to the flow of people from outside. Indian virus looks more lethal than Chinese and Italian now. More are getting infected”.
The remark made by Oli has baffled and outraged officials on the Indian side as Mr.Oli termed the Made-in-China virus as “Indian virus”. It is to be noted that the Chinese virus is said to have originated from a high security lab or from a wet market in Wuhan.
Oli’s comments came following the launch of new political map of Nepal where Indian territories of Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura have been included as part of its territory. Popular actress from Nepal Manisha Koirala, who found her fortune acting in Indian films, endorsed the country’s new maps.
The Indian Government senses an increased role of China in the on-going events. Indian Army Chief Naravane on Friday while addressing a virtual meet organized by IDSA said “I do not know exactly what they are exactly agitating about. Never been a problem in the past, reasons to believe they might have raised these problems, issues at the behest of someone else and there is very much a possibility.”
However, China has maintained that it has nothing to do with Nepal’s stance over Lipulekh.
