A mob comprising of fanatic Muslims killed a man in Uganda just one week after he converted to Christianity.
Yusuf Kintu (41) was a former Imam of Macca Mosque in Dolwe Island located in Mayuge district. He and his family were living in a house close to the Mosque. He reportedly got converted to Christianity on November 30, 2020.
Three days later, his wife divorced him and left to her father’s home in the Bugiri District with their two children, Abudkriim (19), and Sauda (16).
Yusuf is said to have changed his faith after his interaction with one pastor named Andrew Nyanma. According to Pastor Andrew, Yusuf was argumentative in matters related to faith. He observed that Yusuf was a brilliant Muslim imam who also respected other people’s faith. “On this day, he was calm and receptive. He gave me humble time to explain to him why Christ is the only way to the Father. He repented of his sins and committed to following Christ.”, Pastor Andrew was quoted saying in a report by CBN News.
This had enraged his community who formed a mob and brutally attacked Yusuf Kintu on December 7 leaving him unconscious. Later in the morning Pastor Andrew arrived and took him to the hospital to give him medical care but he had passed away.
Just a few weeks before, a Christian pastor and two children were killed by fanatic Muslims.
