Police in Karnataka arrested a Muslim man accused of enticing and sexually harassing a minor boy. The accused has been identified as Hameed Maula, a resident of Kabaka village in Puttur Taluk, Karnataka.
According to the information that is available, on March 27, the minor boy had gone to a private programme held at Idkidu in Bantwal taluk, under Vittal police station limits in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district. The programme was held late at around 10.30 pm.
At the programme, the victim was enticed by Hameed Maula, a resident of Kabaka village. Maula took the boy to a nearby house and sexually harassed him.
The boy managed to escape from the house and informed his parents on what had occurred. The accused was then arrested by the Vittal police as per the complaint filed by the victim’s father.
A case under the Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act has been registered against the accused.
