Mangaluru police on Friday arrested a Muslim man for filming a woman taking a bath in a private hospital in the city’s Deralakatte area.
The accused, identified as 42-year old Abdul Muneer, is a resident of Madani Nagar, Munnur village in Ullal.
According to the police, the incident occurred at a private hospital in Mangaluru on January 20. The accused had gone to the hospital to visit an ailing relative. He then went to the women’s washroom on purpose, where upon realising that a woman was bathing, he climbed on to a chair proceeded to film here. The victim saw Abdul Muneer and, startled, screamed for help. However, Abdul fled the scene. A case was registered on the same day.
Police arrested Muneer from his residence on Friday based on the hospital’s CCTV footage from the day of the incident. Muneer, who happens to be a poultry supplier, was also produced before a court.
