MH Govt ropes in Muslim film star Salman Khan to overcome vaccine hesitancy among Muslims

As the Islamic group, the Raza Acadamy which is running riot in the state of Maharastra over an unverified attack on a mosque in Tripura, a new problem of vaccine hesitancy has emerged in the state which saw maximum infection and deaths in the last one year.

Maharashtra Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said that there is hesitancy among the Muslim community when it comes to taking the anti-coronavirus vaccines in Muslim-dominated areas.

That is why the government has now taken the help of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to convince people to take the jab.

As per data, Maharashtra is leading in terms of the number of vaccine shots administered, however, it has been noticed that in some areas the pace of vaccination is low and they are Muslim-dominated areas.

Tope said, “There is still some hesitancy in Muslim-dominated areas. We have decided to use Salman Khan and religious leaders to convince the Muslim community to take the vaccine. Religious leaders and film actors wield great influence and people listen to them,”.
