MeToo Accused Vairamuthu Writes A Cryptic Post Taking A Dig At Singer Suchitra’s Mental Health

MeToo Accused Vairamuthu Writes A Cryptic Post Taking A Dig At Singer Suchitra's Mental Health

Lyricist and MeToo-accused Dravidianist poet Vairamuthu was recently in the news when singer Suchitra, recognized for her unique voice in playback singing and her work as a dubbing artist in Tamil cinema, came forward with her own allegations against him. Suchitra, who gained notoriety for theSuchi Leaksscandal in 2016, claimed that the lyricist sexually harassed singers, including herself, lending her voice to the growing number of accusations against him.

In an interview, Suchitra then recounted an incident where after receiving inappropriate flattery from #MeToo accused Vairamuthu in a phone call regarding the glamorous song, he invited her to his home to present her with a gift. However, she brought her grandmother along, which visibly shocked Vairamuthu. According to Suchitra, her grandmother confronted Vairamuthu, asserting that Suchitra was like a daughter to him and demanding that he behave responsibly. Vairamuthu, visibly anxious, sweated during the encounter. Vairamuthu nervously retrieved two “Pantene” shampoo bottles when her grandmother asked about the gift. Suchitra claimed that Vairamuthu’s real intention in inviting her was not to give a gift but to make an inappropriate advance.

This video went viral on social media and led to several memes trolling the lyricist. In response, Vairamuthu posted his signature “poetry” cryptically about Suchitra taking a dig at her alleged mental illness and her failures in life. Vairamuthu wrote on his X handle,

Because of life failures

Even with a weak heart

Unfulfilled desires

Under stress

At its peak

Some are prone to brain damage

On those who are loved one-sidedly

Perverse words

They throw fiercely;

They speak unrelated languages

Crazy sometimes

Crazy

Sometimes like a clairvoyant

showman

Calling himself God

considerate

For this disease

‘Messianic Delusional Disorder’

Name that

They are punished

Not the needy;

Compassionate;

Out of sympathy

Those who can heal

Psychotherapy

There are pills too

appropriate doctors
