Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has said that yesterday’s meeting with government officials at the DMK district office was not planned one.

Anbil Magesh Poyamozhi, the MLA of Thiruverumbur constituency who is also in-charge of the DMK’s Trichy South district held a meeting with District Collector and other government officials at the party office located in VN Nagar, near the Kalaignar Academy.

consulted with Lions and Rotary officials about preventing the spread of corona in the party office and providing oxygen to the government hospital .

The meeting was also attended by District Collector S. Divyadarshini, Municipal Commissioner of Police A. Arun and Corporation Commissioner S. Sivasubramanian.

P. Kumar, AIADMK Trichy District Secretary, today (May 18) lodged a complaint saying that the Minister had convened a meeting with public officials at the party office, in violation of protocol. The incident also made its way to newspapers.

However, the Minister explained that the meeting was not a planned one.

He said, “I was talking in my office yesterday with welfare union executives operating in Trichy asking for help in dealing with the Corona disaster. At that time, the District Collector, the Corporation Commissioner and the Municipal Commissioner of Police came to my office to meet and congratulate me on taking charge as the new Minister.”

“Since it was a consultative meeting of like-minded people with a service mindset to save people’s lives during the Corona era, officials took part in it and shared some ideas. Otherwise, the meeting was not planned” he said.

“Being part of the government, I know that the party office should not hold that meeting. Therefore, it is not a pre-planned meeting, as reported in some newspapers.” he said.
