Meet California Assemblywoman Jasmeet Bains – A Khalistani Terrorist Sympathizer, Anti-Hindu Politician Now Running For Congress

Dr. Jasmeet Bains, the Democratic Assemblywoman representing California’s 35th District, has announced her campaign for Congress in the state’s 22nd District. While positioning herself as a champion of Central Valley families, her political career reveals troubling associations with Khalistani extremism and a pattern of legislative actions that Hindu advocacy groups warn unfairly target Indian Americans.

A Politician With A Dangerous Agenda

Bains, a family physician and daughter of Punjabi Sikh immigrants, portrays herself as a moderate Democrat fighting for healthcare and economic justice. However, her political career reveals a pattern of hostility toward Hindus, India, and Indian Americans, raising serious concerns about her fitness for higher office.

Khalistani Sympathizer

Facebook posts unearthed show Bains openly endorsing the Khalistan movement, a violent separatist ideology responsible for the deaths of thousands, including the 1985 Air India bombing (the deadliest terrorist attack in Canadian history).

“Khalistan is the way to gain respect for our religion in the eyes of the world..”

“Any movement against Bhindranwale is a movement against our religion.. – Jasmeet Bains (referring to Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, a militant leader behind the 1984 Golden Temple siege).

Blamed Hindus for 1984 anti-Sikh riots, ignoring the thousands of Hindus massacred by Khalistani terrorists in Punjab.

Anti-Hindu Legislation: Targeting Indian Americans

Bains has spearheaded controversial bills that Hindu advocacy groups warn could criminalize dissent against extremism and profile Indian-Americans as “foreign agents.”

SB 509 (Transnational Repression Bill) – Co-authored by Bains, this bill claims to combat foreign interference but is widely seen as a tool to silence pro-India voices.

  • Rejected amendments from Hindu groups (CoHNA & HAF) that sought protections against misuse.
  • Empowers law enforcement to treat criticism of Khalistani extremism as “foreign repression.”
  • Backed by Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), a banned extremist group linked to terrorism.

She joins the bandwagon of politicians pushing anti-India agenda as seen earlier with the SB 403 & AB 3027 bills, which failed.

Introducing the bill, she said, “A few weeks ago, this hit headlines on the front page of Washington Post stating the fact that the Indian government paid and attempted to assassinate US citizens right here. My question is why. Why am I reading about this in the Washington Post and not in the FBI or Homeland Security Report. US ally or not, India and other foreign governments violating our national sovereignty must be held accountable and called out.”

Double Standards: Ignoring Hindu Persecution

While Bains claims to fight oppression, she has remained silent on targeted attacks on Hindu temples in California; Hinduphobic hate crimes, including vandalism and threats against Indian American communities, Pakistan’s persecution of Sikhs & Hindus, while amplifying anti-India narratives.

If elected to Congress, Bains would join far-left figures like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib in pushing anti-India, pro-Khalistan agendas in U.S. politics. Her legislative record proves she is not a representative for all constituents, but a radical activist using her platform to target Hindus and legitimize extremism.

Her candidacy already seems to have drawn praise from Khalistani groups like Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), designated as extremist by India.

With California’s 22nd District home to a significant Indian American population, her campaign is likely to intensify debates over diaspora politics, Hinduphobia, and the influence of separatist movements in U.S. elections.
