Meerut Love Jihad Case: Full details of Muslim man who lured and raped a Hindu girl

In a textbook case of love jihad, a Muslim man named Waseem Ahmed who lured a Hindu woman through Facebook using a Hindu name Dinesh Ravat, and raped her for two years, was arrested by Meerut police in Uttar Pradesh. Waseem had shared pictures and videos of the heinous act on social media.  His phone has been confiscated and has been sent for investigation.

He has been booked under sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) , 419 (cheating by personation) and 420 (cheating), along with section 66 of the Information Technology Act (computer-related offences such as fraud). He has been sent to judicial custody. An FIR has been registered.

The statement of the woman notes that Waseem befriended the woman through Facebook using the name Dinesh Ravat. One day he had called her home where he made sexual relations with her. When the woman asked him to marry her, he disclosed his Muslim identity said that he was married and has 2 children.

“I cheated you because I wanted to teach you people a lesson”, the woman quotes the man in her statement in the FIR.

It was reported that the man told the police that his original intention was to shame a Hindu woman on the internet.

Waseem is 29 years old and is a resident of Ajrara village near Meerut. He is already married and has 2 children.

He had a fake Aadhar Card in the name of Dinesh Ravat and also operated a Facebook account under the same name. However, his, driving license and voter cards are in the name “Waseem Ahmed” with differing spellings. While the birth date is the same in all identity cards the addresses were different.

It was found that he got himself a job at a local hospital as a nursing staff using the fake identity where he had been working for the past one year.

In his real Facebook account, he identifies himself as a reported of Punjab Kesari. But the police mention that he couldn’t produce proof for the same.

During the police interrogation, he is said to have told that his motive was to shame a Hindu woman on the internet. Asking if he was part of an organized gang, he mentioned that he functioned alone.

Earlier the UP police had solved a long pending case where they arrested a man named Shakib for posing as a Hindu man to get into a relationship with Ekta Deshwal from Ludhiana, who was beheaded and brutally murdered.
