Mangaluru: Offensive messages and condoms found in temple hundis once again

As Hindu temples continue to be vandalised and damaged by unidentified miscreants across the country, another disgusting incident has come to light from this coastal city of Karnataka.

Posters with the defaced faces of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, BY Vijayendra and several other BJP leaders were found in the hundis of the Koragajja and Guligajja shrine in Ullal, Mangaluru. A cross was also drawn on the poster. Condoms were found in the hundi as well.

The posters also had hateful messages written on them. “Beware! Traitorous angels banished from Heaven have become fake gods and are corrupting the humans on Earth through idols”, “Politicians who loot people are like blood sucking mosquitoes, and they should be beaten up and killed”, “People should be prepared”, were some of these messages written on the poster.

The incident came into light when the hundi was opened on January 19 by the Koragajja Seva Samithi.

Earlier this month, used condoms and fake currency notes with hateful scribbles had been found in hundis in three other temples in the city. All these incidents have been reported from temples where there are no CCTV cameras.

Police officials visited the shrine and took cognisance of the situation.
