Recently, a 22-year-old pregnant woman was killed by her newlywed hardware engineer husband in Bengaluru over suspected illicit affair. It has been revealed that the murder accused was an illegal immigrant from Bangladesh.
The Karanataka Police with the help of West Bengal Police managed to arrest the accused, Nasir Hussain, 29, while he was trying to cross the international border near Siliguri, West Bengal, on 19 January 2023.
According to the police officials, Hussain had entered India illegally in 2014-15. “He was a hardware engineer by skill and not education. Hussain had worked in cities like Kolkata, and Delhi, and other places and acquired the skill to repair mobile phones and laptops,” police officials were quoted saying.

The Sudduguntepalya police launched a manhunt to nab the accused Nasir Hussain who was on the run after strangulating his newly married wife to death. Nasir had sent a message to the brother of the victim and informed him about the murder, and asked him to collect the body from the apartment where the couple lived.
Police officers stated that Nasir Hussain married Naz Khanum around six months ago. The victim’s family was not aware about the accused but still gave consent since it was a ‘love marriage’. However, after the marriage the accused started to suspect Naz, accusing her of having an affair with her brother-in-law and used to fight with her frequently.
On January 15, the accused killed his wife and locked the door from outside. He boarded the flight to Delhi and informed Naz’s brother that he killed her due to suspected illicit affair. Upon receiving this information, Naz’s family rushed to the apartment to find her lying dead. The Sudduguntepalya police then formed a special team to track down the accused.
During the probe, the police tracked the movements of Hussain who by then had flown to Delhi and from there had taken another flight to Kolkata. They foiled his plans to cross the border by passing the message to the West Bengal Police who nabbed him on January 19. They handed him over to the Karnataka Police.
