“Lockdown may be no more, but virus still exists”: Prime Minister Modi warns against BAU attitude

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the country on Tuesday evening and elucidated on the need to continue wearing masks and taking necessary precautions, saying that the coronavirus still exists. He said that despite the fact that the lockdown restrictions have been eased, citizens have to continue following the safety measures and social distancing regulations in order to stay safe from the virus.

He said “Most of us are stepping out of our homes every day to fulfill our responsibilities, to speed up life again. This season of festivals is also slowly returning to the markets”.

“Keep in mind, whether it is America today, or other countries in Europe, the cases of corona were decreasing in these countries, but suddenly started increasing again” PM Modi added.

Throwing shade on the crowding during festive season, the Prime Minister said that the virus had been kept at bay only because of the continued efforts of the personnel and the undying cooperation of people. He urged everyone to not let it deteriorate in the spirit of festivities.

He ended by saying that the government was doing its best to contain the virus as well as making leaps and strides in terms of the vaccine trials. He assured that every citizen will get access to the vaccine once it is out, and asked media personnel, people on social media to campaign to spread public awareness for Covid-19 guidelines.
