A surprising incident unfolded in Ilanthangudi village near Sivaganga when three individuals engaged in religious preaching were detained by local youths and handed over to the police, only to be released without any action taken against them.
These individuals were distributing booklets with messages such as “Merry Christmas. May your sorrow turn to joy,” at a time when schoolchildren were already on summer break. Concerned by their activities, a group of youths apprehended them and reported them to the authorities.
However, a police officer let the three individuals go without issuing any warning, leading to a heated exchange between the youths and the officer. Despite their objections, the policeman dismissed their concerns and allowed the individuals to leave, leaving the youths stunned by the lack of action.
