BJP Tamil Nadu State Secretary Dr. SG Suryah took to his X (formerly Twitter) to share about the cases slapped by the DMK government in Tamil Nadu and the resulting legal hassles he has been facing.
Responding to an X user who had accused the party of not taking care of BJP supporters who are intimidated by the DMK with false cases, Suryah said that he was fighting his own battles and did not depend on the party to come to his help.
The BJP Tamil Nadu State Secretary had spent 5 days in the Madurai after he was arrested for his statement against Madurai Communist Party of India (Marxist) MP Su Venkatesan. Dr. Suryah was arrested on a frivolous charges as he had mentioned Madurai instead of Cuddalore district while lambasting Communist MP Su Venkatesan over the death of a hygiene worker.
The other case that he faces is regarding a report published in The Commune on the Chidambaram Deekshitars issue in which he along with Kaushik Subramanian, the other Director of The Commune, have been booked under Sections 153, 504, 505 (1) (b) and 505 (2).
“FIR 1 – 15 days sign at Madurai & 50 days of sign at Chennai Commissioner Office 2 times a day. 10 AM & 5 PM. FIR 2 – 50 days signed at Chennai & still signing 2 times a week sign @ Chidambaram Police Station. iPhone, Samsung Phone, iPad & work MacBook confiscated & yet to get it back. Missed my grandfather’s 100th Birthday, PhD Viva + countless other professional commitments. Currently Fighting 7 different cases in 2 false vindictive FIRs including 2 Quash cases.”, Suryah said.
He added that it was humanly impossible for the party to handhold everyone throughout his/her legal battles.
“I’m fighting my own legal battles; not understanding how tough it is fine but kindly do not belittle or presume it to be an easy thing Madam”, Dr. Suryah said.
In response to this, BJP National General Secretary (Organization) encouraged Suryah saying “Let’s brave it out all in the service of the motherland”.
