Tamil Nadu BJP Secretary SG Suryah has pointed out dismal performance of the Communist parties in the recently concluded Delhi Assembly elections, where they failed to secure more votes than NOTA (None of the Above) in any of the constituencies they contested. The Left parties, which had formed an alliance to contest six seats, were unable to make any significant impact, with their vote count trailing behind NOTA in all segments.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist) fielded candidates in Karawal Nagar and Badarpur, while the Communist Party of India (CPI) contested in Vikaspuri and Palam. The CPI(ML) Liberation participated in Narela and Kondli. Despite their efforts, none of the Communist candidates managed to surpass the NOTA votes in any of the nine seats they contested.
Taking to his official X account, SG Suryah highlighted the poor performance of the Communist alliance. He shared the vote details from the nine constituencies, emphasizing that the Communists were outperformed by NOTA in every seat.
- In the Palam Assembly constituency, the BJP secured 82,046 votes, while the Communists received only 326 votes, significantly lower than NOTA’s 1,119 votes.
- In Adarsh Nagar, the BJP won with 52,510 votes, whereas the Communists garnered just 133 votes, compared to NOTA’s 377.
- In Okhla, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged victorious with 88,943 votes, followed by the BJP with 65,304 votes. The Communists managed only 259 votes, falling short of NOTA’s 604.
- In Wazirpur, the BJP won with 54,721 votes, while the Communists secured 190 votes, less than NOTA’s 652.
- In Karawal Nagar, the BJP triumphed with 107,367 votes, and the Communists received 457 votes, trailing behind NOTA’s 709.
- In Narela, the BJP won with 87,215 votes, while the Communists got 328 votes, compared to NOTA’s 981.
- In Vikaspuri, the BJP secured 112,120 votes, and the Communists received 580 votes, less than NOTA’s 1,127.
- In Badarpur, AAP won with 112,991 votes, followed by the BJP with 87,103 votes. The Communists managed only 367 votes, below NOTA’s 915.
- In Kondli, AAP won with 61,792 votes, and the BJP secured 55,499 votes. The Communists received a mere 100 votes, far fewer than NOTA’s 776.
In total, the BJP garnered 703,885 votes across these constituencies, while NOTA received 7,620 votes. The Communist alliance, however, could only muster 2,740 votes in the nine seats they contested.
