Kasibugga SI K. Sirisha, a female sub-inspector from Srikakulam has earned praise far and wide after she carried an unattended body for 2KM on her shoulders. She had seen this corpse on the outskirts of Adavi Kotturu village in Palasa municipality. After noticing that no one had taken any step to pay their last respects, she had then proceeded to gather a couple of passersby and carried the body through uneven roads and paddy fields.
She had then handed over the body to a charitable organization for performing last rites. This is not her first act of philanthropy, as she had also been donating a part of her salary for charity ever since she joined in service.
This act by Sirisha started trending on social media, and praise started pouring in for her from all directions. DGP Gautam Sawang lauded the woman Sub-Inspector for carrying the mortal remains of an unknown man in Srikakulam district for final rites. “Kasibugga lady Sub-Inspector Sirisha has carried an unidentified dead body which was found in the fields of Adivikotturu village in Palasa in Kasibugga municipality of Srikakulam,” said an official statement.
When asked about this, Sirisha had said, “I joined the police force to serve people and extend my services to the society. The dead deserve dignity too. I only did my duty.” Sirisha is a mother to a 12-year-old. The woman police officer said that it was her father’s dream to see one of his four daughters join the force.
