Kolathur: Four Arrested For Assault & Robbery After Fake Auto Ride Request In CM Stalin’s Constituency

In a surprising incident that occurred within the constituency of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin in Chennai, four individuals were arrested for allegedly assaulting people after asking for a ride in an auto-rickshaw.

A. Godwin (30), a resident of Sai Street in Aminjikarai and a rental auto driver, had traveled to Kolathur last 12 June 2025 with his relative Harish and friend Vignesh. While passing through Poompuhar Nagar First Street, they were approached by individuals who requested a lift. Similarly another two had asked for a lift near the Varalakshmi Nagar ration shop. Shortly afterward, the four suspects allegedly attacked Godwin, Harish, and Vignesh, stealing their money and mobile phones before fleeing the scene.

Police registered a case on 14 June 2025 and subsequently arrested four suspect, Karthik (24) from Kolathur, Kishor (23), Vishal ram (26), and Ilangovan (20).
