A 50 year old Madrasa teacher was arrested by the Kerala police for raping his 16 year old daughter repeatedly over 3 years, Kerala based news channel Janam TV reported.
Along with him, six others were charged under the POCSO Act for sexually abusing the girl, of which 3 of them – Riyas (19), Ijaz (20), and Mohammed Ali (20) – have been arrested.
The police took action after a complaint was registered by the girl’s uncle.
In the complaint, the victim stated that her father repeatedly sexually assaulted her for 3 years.
It was reported in The New Indian Express that the girl was impregnated and made to undergo abortion two months ago. The doctor is also being charged for failing to report the incident. The girl’s mother is also being investigated for not revealing.
The man who hails from Sullia in Karnataka moved to Kasargod to teach at a local madrasa.
He was reportedly a repeat sexual offender and was charged under POCSO in 2017 for sexually abusing 4 minor boys.
