In Thrissur, BJP leaders have handed over a newly constructed house to the family of RSS karyakarta Baiju, who was killed as a result of radical Islamic violence.
The announcement was made by BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar, who shared details of the initiative on his social media handles.
According to Chandrasekhar, Baiju’s family had repeatedly requested assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) to build a new home, but their applications were allegedly denied for years by the CPI(M)-controlled Pavaratty panchayat in Thrissur. He alleged that this reflected a deliberate neglect of the family and an effort to block central welfare schemes.
Chandrasekhar said the BJP subsequently intervened and constructed a house for the family. He stated that the party would “stand with every karyakarta and their families” and extend support to Malayalees facing hardship.
BJP leaders formally handed over the house keys to Baiju’s family during a small ceremony.
