Kerala-based Malabar Gold & Diamonds, an Indian jewellery conglomerate founded by M. P. Ahammed, has stirred a fresh wave of controversy by extending VIP invitations to known anti-India and pro-Pakistan influencers at the inauguration of its newly expanded showroom in the UK figures who have actively and repeatedly voiced hostility toward India on social media platforms.
The company recently broadened its footprint in the UK with the opening of two new showrooms located in Birmingham and Southall. These launches, held on 6 September 2025, were headlined by Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan. However, the spotlight has now shifted to the brand’s deeply questionable choice of invitees.
Among the most contentious figures invited was Alishba Khalid who is an Instagram influencer who goes by the handle – _alishchaudhary99.

Who Is Alishba Khalid/Alisha Chaudhary?
Alisha/Alishba seems to be a Pakistani Instagram influencer who can be seen endorsing various businesses and brands. Among them was Malabar Gold UK. Her posts about Operation Sindoor back in May 2025 went viral on social media. In one of those posts, she labeled the operation “cowardly” and made it clear that she had no regard for her Indian followers.
In a now widely circulated screenshot of her Instagram posts, in what seems like now-deleted from her profile, around Op Sindoor she seems to have shared an image captioned, “WHAT A COWARDLY ACT INDIA! YOU FAILED TO GIVE ANY EVIDENCE OF PAKISTAN’S INVOLVEMENT YOU CHOSE TO ATTACK AT NIGHT AND YOU TARGETED A MASJID AND TAKEN CIVILIAN LIVES THE WORLD’S BIGGEST DEMOCRACY HAS SHOWN HYPOCRISY. PAKISTAN ZINDABAD.”
Accompanying this, she wrote, “The wars will end and the leaders will shake hands, and that old woman will remain waiting for her martyred son, and that girl will wait for her beloved husband, and the children will wait for their heroic father, I do not know who sold the homeland but I know who paid the price. I don’t give a dam to my followers i love my country Ya Allah, apni rehmat ka saya is watan par hamesha banaye rakhna. PAKISTAN ZINDABAD.”

Doubling down on her divisive stance, in another post she declared her disregard for her Indian audience, “I know 60% of my followers are from India and to be honest, I don’t care anymore. Threatening messages keep coming in, but they don’t shake me. I was raised with strong principles to speak up against injustice, even when silence would be safer. My conscience is clear because I’ve never supported violence, chaos, or the loss of innocent lives. I don’t care about followers I care about my country, my people, and standing on the right side of history. To the influencers staying silent just to protect their Indian following shame on you. My loyalty will always be with my homeland.” She ended with cursing India, “O Allah, protect Pakistan from all harm and evil, make it a land of peace and security, bless its people, and guide its leaders towards what is best for the country and its people.”

Her vitriol didn’t end there. In another post on 7 May 2025, she proclaimed, “Shame on you, India! Killing the innocent isn’t strength it’s pure cowardice. We are not afraid, and we never will be. Just wait now our turn will come. And we will answer with truth and unshakable strength.”

Malabar Gold & Diamonds now finds itself facing sharp backlash for associating with such openly anti-India elements, casting a shadow over its brand image and raising questions about its ideological alignment and vetting process for high-profile events.
